BCCI concerned over beer party incident at Perth pitch

The Board for Cricket Control in India (BCCI), denounced the incident of drinking and partying on the cricket pitch in Perth in Australia ahead of the third test match, saying it was a serious matter.
Rajiv Shukla, Vice President of the Board for Cricket Control in India (BCCI), told reporters in New Delhi on Friday that the television visuals of staff members of Western Australian Cricket Association sitting and drinking on the pitch was a matter of concern and a major breach of the established protocol.
"Maintenance of the wicket is the responsibility of the host board and the host board should have taken care of it. If those visuals are correct, then it is a matter of concern for us," said Shukla.
Shukla added that it was upto the Australian Board to take action against the erring staff.
"We have not got the report of the team management. Unless we get a complaint from the team management, we cannot take it up with Australian Cricket Board. So, we are leaving it to the wisdom of Australian Cricket Board to look into it," he added.
Shukla also played down reports hinting at skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni's plans to retire from one of the formats of cricket to prolong his career in the other formats.
"We do not take any cognisance of the things said in a press conference until and unless one does not inform anything officially to the board. And till that time, it is not correct to comment on any such thing. According to me, he (Mahendra Singh Dhoni) is the captain and leading the Indian team," he stated.
Dhoni, earlier on Thursday, had said in a news conference that he might retire from one of the formats of the game as he wished to be part of the squad that would play the 2015 World Cup.
