Telangana Political JAC Chairman Prof. Kodandaram has said that they always respect late Potti Sriramulu, who sacrificed his life for the sake of separate Andhra State.
Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, Prof. Kodandaram said that there was evil intention behind the GO which exhorted people of Andhra Pradesh to observe a two-minute silence on the day of Potti Sriramulu’s death anniversary. Stating that Potti Sriramulu did not fight for “Vishalandhra” State, he said that the Telangana Political JAC would put up posters at all the government offices that they were paying tributes to late Potti Sriramulu for sacrificing his life for the sake of separate Andhra State.
Prof. Kodandaram said that the people of the Telangana region were fighting for separate Telangana State taking inspiration from the life of late Potti Sriramulu. He alleged that the Congress, which gave a statement on Telangana on December 9, 2009, has swallowed its word twice though it assured State bifurcation on Telangana during 2004 and 2009 elections. He also lashed out at Telangana Congress leaders for failing to achieve separate State.
The TJAC chief has made it clear that they never gave a call to obstruct the TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu’s yatra. He said that the TJAC urges the agitators to withdraw their call if anybody given in such a way.
