Rushi Telugu Movie Review

Prasad Productions, which has a glorious past in the Telugu film industry, has come up with a meaningful and humanistic film. Director Raj Madiraju brought out the film Rushi in such a way that the film could be screened in film festivals and at the same time it has lots of commercial values too. Read on for the review.

Rushi (Aravind Krishna) is pursuing his medical education. He believes in practical thinking and is a straight-forward man. He loses his heart to his classmate Puja (Supriya Shailaja). Though Puja rejects him in the beginning, she too starts loving him later, as Puja realises that he is pursuing the doctor course not for money but to serve the people. The first half of the entire film runs in the college backdrop and is full of entertainment.

As the first half is coming to an end, the hero comes across a young boy named Karthik (Master Gaurav) who is battling for his life. Rushi is not a qualified doctor yet starts treatment and everyone start criticising him for taking the initiative. However, Rushi discusses with his friends about the boy’s disease and he expresses his doubt that Karthik needs heart transplant. Surprisingly, a panel of senior doctors who examine Karthik opine the same. Now, Rushi, Puja and his friends start searching for a donor. They are looking for either brain-dead or accident victims. At this juncture, the director has inserted a twist. The remaining part should be seen on-screen.

Performance:
Aravind Krishna has given a matured performance. His acting skills has improved comparatively with his earlier film. He looks handsome looks with a well-toned body. The actor has expressed different emotions in a right passion and has shown some ease in dance Supriya has some good looks and her debut performance is okay. She makes a good pair with the hero. Gaurav looks cute. All the other artistes have done justice to their respective roles.

Technical:
The dialogues in the film are passable. There are a number of songs in the film and the audiences make use of them to smoke or to have some tea. If their numbers were cut short, the film would be more interesting. Don Chandran’s music is good and some of the tracks by Singdha are quite melodious. The camera work and editing are just okay. However, despite making a good product, he has done some minor mistakes here and there and they are ignorable. He has made a good effort to bring out the acting talents of artistes. His portrayal of characters reveals this. Though the first half gives a feel that is just a watchable film, the second half arrests the audiences to their seats and makes them to sit tight. Especially, the way of narration of the story in the form of hero telling about his life to a television journalist is good.

Remarks:
No doubt, Rushi has a good theme and has been also tackled effectively and worth appreciation. It is a different from routine film. The film leaves to the audiences some meaningful thoughts. Watch the film if you are really looking for a different flick with a touch of entertainment.

Cast: Aravind Krishna, Supriya, Raviprakash, Master Gaurav and others.

Dhoni Telugu Movie Review

Many know Prakash Raj as a versatile artiste but a very few of them know that he is a passionate filmmaker, who loves to deliver good films. To his credit, he had earlier produced Abhiyum Nanum (Akasamantha in Telugu) and made his directorial debut in Kannada film industry by remaking it. However, he has now directed his first Telugu-Tamil film in the form of Dhoni, which is inspired by a Marathi film. Read on for the review.

Story:

Subrahmanyam (Prakash Raj) is a middle-class man, who always run for money doing all sorts of works right from dawn to dusk to bring up his daughter Kaveri (Sriteja) and Karthick (Akash). He wishes to give them good education. On the other end, Karthick wants to become a good cricketer. While Subrahmanyam joins him in a good school, Akash fails in most of the subjects. However, his cricket coach (Nazar) is in all praise, as Karthcik played the major role in winning a cricket tournament.

Kaveri often spends time with Nalini (Radhika Apte). Accidentally, Subbu gets to know that Nalini earns her living through prostitution and strictly orders his daughter to stay away from her. As Karthick was poor in studies, the principal tells Subbu to take his son out. Immediately Subbu takes Karthick away from cricket coaching and made him to go a series of tuition classes. Karthick fails to cope up with studies even after leaving cricket, which makes Subbu to lose his patience and beats him up and injures his head for which he gets arrested. What happens next should be seen on-screen.

Performance:
As usual Prakash Raj has given an electrifying performance. Radhika Apte, who is seen as his neighbour, is good and Mugdha Godse has played her part well. Gollapudi Maruti Rao, Melkote, Talaivasal Vijay have done justice to their roles. While Prabhu Deva will be seen in a special song, Dhoni has made a guest appearance. Murali Sharma and Nazar have done equally important roles to Prakash Raj in this movie as cricket coach and teacher. Above all, Puri Jagannath's son Akash is the hero in the film and he is extraordinary.

Technical:
Illayaraja’s background score elevated the scenes while his songs are melodious and make the audiences humming even after the song gets over. Cinematographer KV Guhan and editor Kishore are good. When it comes to direction, Prakash Raj should be praised for not only doing his best, but also for taking excellent job out of his technical team.

Remarks:
Undoubtedly, the film will entertain the audiences and they will get a feel that the money spent on the tickets are worth.

Cast: Prakash Raj, Mugdha Godse, Akash (Puri Jagannath’s son), Radhika Apte, Nazar, Tenikella Bharani, Brahmanandam, Murali Sharma, Gollapudi Maruthi Rao, Melkote, Hema, Talaivasal Vijay, Ananth, Kasturi Suchi, Sriteja, Prabhu Deva (guest), Dhoni (cameo)

Snehitudu Telugu Movie Cinema Review

Release date: 26 Jan 2012
Director : Shankar
Producer : Dil Raju
Music Director : Harris Jayaraj
Starring: Vijay, Ileana, Jeeva, Srikanth, Sathyaraj, Sathyan, S.J. Surya, Anuya Bhagvath, Raghava
Ace director Shankar has come up with Nanbaan, the remake of the Hindi blockbuster ’3 Idiots’. Nanbaan has been dubbed into Telugu as ‘Snehitudu’ and the film has released across Andhra Pradesh today. Vijay,Jiva, Sri Ram and Ileana are the lead actors in this film. Music has been composed by Harris Jayaraj. The movie’s Telugu rights have been bought by Dil Raju. Let us see how the movie stacks up.
Story :
Panchabatla Sarangapani or Pani (Vijay), Venkat Ramakrishna ( Sri Ram) and Sanakkayala Ravi (Jiva) are room mates at Ideal Engineering College. All three of them become thick friends but their personalities and talents are very different. Pani is a very unorthodox student who gives more importance to knowledge than marks. He is extremely intelligent and is a practical joker. Venkat on the other hand is a very talented wildlife photographer. He pursues engineering against his will in order to please his parents. Ravi comes from a family struggling with poverty. He is an extremely timid person and his only goal is to get a good job to support his family.
Pani encourages his friends to chase their dreams instead of succumbing to pressures and exams. This brings him into direct conflict with the dean of the college, Virupaksha Sundaram or Virus (Sathyaraj). As Pani keeps crossing the path of Virus time and again, a series of humorous and sometimes tragic events unfold. Into this scenario comes in Ria (Ileana), daughter of Virus. A romantic track builds up over time between Pani and Ria. An exasperated Virus decides to expel the three friends. Will Virus succeed in his attempts? What happens to the ambitions of the three friends? That forms the rest of the story.
Plus Points :
Sri Ram has delivered a fine performance as Venkat. He looks good and lends credibility to the role. Jiva is pretty solid in the role of Ravi and he is good as the vulnerable and timid student. Ileana looks gorgeous and she performs a sizzling belly dance in the duet with Vijay.
Sathyaraj has delivered a good performance as the strict and hyper intelligent dean Virus. Sathyan is humorous in the role of Silencer. Comedy hero Sunil has dubbed for Sathyam and it came out well.
The script of the movie is extremely strong and the scenes make a strong impact on the audience even though they are known. There is a nice mix of sentiment, comedy, drama and romance. There are some extremely moving scenes in the film, like the one where Sri Ram goes and talks to his parents about his true dream in life. Students and parents will connect very emotionally with the movie. The movie never loses tempo and narration is fast paced.
Minus Points :
Surprisingly, the weak link of the package is Vijay. He may be a top star in Tamil Nadu but it will be hard for cinema lovers in Andhra Pradesh to accept him as the lead hero. He has also delivered a surprisingly dull performance. He just sleepwalks through the role and his performance can’t hold a candle to what Aamir Khan did in the Hindi version.
This movie is a perfect carbon copy of ’3 Idiots’, right down to the mobile phones, cars and costumes used. There is absolutely no native feel in the film. It is hard to imagine why a top director like Shankar was needed for a such a direct interpretation of the movie. For those who have seen ’3 Idiots’, this movie will be slightly boring.
Technical Aspects :
Cinematography is decent. Harris Jayaraj’s music is just about OK. Abburi Ravi’s dialogues are good and lend the scenes the necessary depth. Editing is ok.
Verdict :
Though the movie by itself is good, one expects more when Shankar is at the helm of the project. For those who have seen ’3 Idiots’, this movie will be boring. If you have not seen the Hindi version of the movie, you will find this film entertaining. Ileana looks gorgeous and some fine performances are offered by Jiva and Sri Ram. Should you watch the film? Well, the movie is definitely worth a watch for its engaging script. Just don’t expect too much from Shankar and don’t compare it with the original film.

Rajanna Movie Review,Rajanna Telugu Movie Review, Telugu Movie Reviews

Rajanna Review – Rajanna Movie Review, Rating, Telugu Movie: This film is touted to be the comeback film of director Vijayendra Prasad who made his debut as director with Arthangi in 1996. The film was made on the real life incidents in Telangana region during the Nizam rule. The movie is laced with sentiment, emotions and patriotism. Nagarjuna Akkineni produced the film on Annapurna Studios banner. Here is the review of Rajanna.

Story:

The story of the film revolves around the central character Mallamma, an orphan girl who is being raised by an old man. The girl has a passion to sing and that has been strongly opposed by the Dorasani of the village as she feels that her songs have some intense emotion which can turn the entire village against her. But, poor girl couldn’t stop singing and as a result the dorasani kills the old man, locks the girl inside the house and set it ablaze. The girl escapes the mishap with the help of a music teacher and makes her way to Delhi to meet the then Prime Minister of India Jawahar Lal Nehru to complain against the atrocities of dorasani. The rest of the movie is all about how the girl meets the Prime Minister and fulfills the villagers and Rajanna’s wish.

Analysis:

The movie opens and concludes with a voiceover from Akkineni Nageswara Rao. The first hour of the film is narrated well with heavy sentiment scenes. The introduction of Nagarjuna is a bit late and will be exactly 10 minutes before the interval. The film offers lot of human emotions, patriotism and sentiment which are depicted in a convincing manner. The plot of the film is interesting and laudable. The director could have done better home work at the end.

The second half of the film slowly picks up post interval and leaves a good impression. The power packed dialogues and action episodes are a treat to watch on screen. We can see the mark of Rajamouli in action episodes and couple of songs. Gijigaadu and Veyyi Ra Veyyi songs are the best songs of the film. The screenplay of the film is predictable and lacks the wow factor. The Telangana accent of Nagarjuna is good. Keeravani needs a special mention for his wonderful background score and soundtrack. Overall, the film is watchable for decent performances from the lead star cast.

Performance:

The role played by Nagarjuna as Rajanna is suave and powerful. His histrionics will surely amuse his fans after long time. Pradeep Rawat, Ajay, Nassar, Supreeth and ‘Sye’ Chotu are good in their roles. Sneha is adequate as Lachuvamma. Baby Annie as Mallamma is the show stealer of the film. Her stellar performance is the backbone of the film. Keeravani brings the soul to the film with his wonderful background score and songs. Swetha Menon has delivered her best in a negative role. Mukesh Rishi has a limited role to play. Telangana Sakuntala is just ok.

Technicalities:

The cinematography by Shyam K Naidu is excellent. Graphics are tawdry. This is undoubtedly one of the best works of Keeravani in recent times. The art director has done a brilliant job in bringing out the nativity factor during Nizam era. Editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is up to the mark. The director’s choice of script is good but the execution part could have be better.

Movie: Journey
Banner: SK Pictures, Fox Star Studios
Cinematographer: Velraj
Music: Satya
Editing: Kishore
Producers: A R Murugadoss, Suresh Kondeti
Story, Screenplay & Direction: M Saravanan
Cast: Sharwanand, Ananya, Jai, Anjali etc..

Story

A tale of two couples, the story begins with Gautham (Sharwa), a random guy who is approached by Amrutha (Ananya) for a help. She comes from a small town to Hyderabad and has to go for an interview. She takes the help of Gautham for getting to the location but has several innocent suspicions on him. By the time the interview is over Amrutha starts liking Gautham but she doesn’t even know his name or anything. On the other hand, there is Krishnakanth (Jai), a shy guy who is in love with nurse Madhumita (Anjali). Unlike his nature, Madhumita is more tough, outgoing and assertive. However, she also likes Krishnakanth and eventually they start going around.

Krishnakanth decides to take Madhumita to his hometown and takes the Hyderabad- Vijayawada bus. At the same time, Amrutha who is unable to forget Gautham takes a bus going from Vijayawada – Hyderabad in the hope of seeing him again. What Amrutha doesn’t know is Gautham takes the same bus as Krishna-Madhumita to get in touch with Amrutha. The story takes a turn when both the buses meet with an accident. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Artists Performance:

Sharwanand is a class actor. Despite being given a regular character, he essays it with apt conviction and possesses a strong screen presence. He must be seen more on screen.

Ananya comes up with a cute performance. She is not much of a pretty girl but has that typical innocent looks and carries her role with good quality. Overall, she did a decent job.

Jai has got into his role very nicely and his body language and face in the crowd appearance will strike a chord with the viewers. He underplays his character to the right level.

Anjali is the showstealer. She has a strong homely sex appeal and good versatility in her expressions. Most of the times, it is her eyes that do the talking and her dubbing was suitable.

Highlights:

* Screenplay
* Canning of the bus collision
* Music and RR
* Performances from lead cast
* Storyline
* Sharwa’s dialogue about Hyderabad

Drawbacks:

* Lengthy climax
* Harsh dose of reality
* Nativity element missing to an extent

Final Analysis:

Whenever a Tamil film comes to Telugu in dubbed format, the difference is quite visible.

For starters, the Tamil films are filled with more of daily life characters, their protagonists are regular faces in the crowd sans glamour, the depiction of each scene is done with strong narrative and realism. This is the feel which comes to the viewer from the moment the film starts.

However, it is not just about the nativity or the romance between the lead pairs, it is the underlying realities of life and the backdrop of the film that many will connect to.

Though the subject is simple, the director has elevated the emotion to a high extent purely by his screenplay and extracting good performances. The film also gives a message on how life can take a turn at any point and why one must share love with his/her dear one.

Overall, the film has been made with good sensibilities, a practical touch and above all, cost effective budget.

On the flip side, the Telugu audience is not used to such realistic treats so it remains to be seen how they can handle this.

At the box office, the film has all prospects of scoring a commercial hit and if the audience also connects, then the chances of success grow stronger.
