Gabbar Singh Telugu Movie Review

Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Gabbar Singh’ positivereports in the industry. Shruti Haasan is the heroine in this movie and Harish Shankar is the director. Ganesh Babu has produced the film .

Banner: Parameshwara Art Productions
Actor : Pawan Kalyan
Actress : Shruti Haasan
Director : Harish Shankar
Producer : Banda Ganesh
Music By : Devi Sri Prasad

Story:

Venkatarathnam Naidu (Pawan Kalyan) is the son of Suhasini and the stepson of Naidu (Nagineedu). He loves Gabbar Singh’s character from Sholay and so he decides to call himself ‘Gabbar Singh’. He grows up into a daring and dashing but highly eccentric police officer. He is posted to his hometown of Kondaveedu and he decides to rid the population of law and order problems. This brings him into direct confrontation with Siddhappa Naidu (Abhimanyu Singh), the local goonda and  political aspirant.
As Gabbar Singh goes about confronting Siddhappa Naidu, he comes across Bhagyalakshmi ( Shruti Haasan ) and falls in love with her. Things get murky as the story proceeds and strong human emotions like jealousy, hatred and greed come to the fore. Will Gabbar Singh be able to stop Siddhappa Naidu’s atrocities? What price will he have to pay to achieve his goals? That forms the rest of the story.
The movie is an adaptation of Salman Khan’s ‘Dabangg’ and is not a straight remake. There are major changes in the story and in the treatment of characters.

Pawan Kalyan is simply outstanding in the role of Gabbar Singh and he delivers beautifully on all counts. Pawan Fans will go into raptures of delight with his comedy, punch dialogues and mannerisms. He is excellent as always in the action sequences and he has performed some mass dances this time around.
Shruti Haasan looks beautiful and innocent as the simple village girl. She does not have too much screen presence but she has done justice to whatever was given to her. Ali entertains as constable Samba and his scenes with Pawan are good. Brahmanandam rocks as Recovery Agent Ranjith Kumar. Suhasini and Nagineedu are decent in their respective roles.
Abhimanyu Singh is just about ok as Siddhappa Naidu. Rao Ramesh is good in a brief role. Happy Days fame Gayatri gets a radically different character in the film and she will score points with the front benchers.
The first half moves along at an incredible pace and it is highly entertaining with some solid dialogues. Some scenes like the one where Pawan makes an entry in a rickshaw with Megastar Chiranjeevi’s ‘Ee petaku nene mestri’ playing in the background will score major brownie points with fans. Comedy quotient is high throughout most of the film. The antyakshari block in the police station is hilarious. The romantic track between Pawan and Shruti is very entertaining and it has been conceived very well by Harish Shankar.
All the songs have been shot very well and ‘Dil Se’, ‘Pilla’ and ‘Gabbar Singh’ songs will stand out for beautiful visuals. Malaika Arora sizzles in ‘Kevvu Keka’ and this song will entice B and C center crowds.

Cinematography is outstanding and the film has great visuals. In particular, the songs shot in Europe are beautiful and DI work is impressive, Editing is OK. Fights have been conceived well.
Devi Sri’s music is a major asset to the film and background score is impressive. Special mention must be made of Harish Shankar’s dialogues. They are a major asset for the film and when delivered in Pawan’s trademark fashion, the effect is outstanding. Harish succeeds brilliantly in the first half as a director but fails to repeat that brilliance in the second half.

3 Movie Review, 3 Telugu Movie Review,3 Movie Review, 3 Film Review, Dhanush 3 Movie Review, 3 Movie Rating, 3 Movie Hit or flop

Finally the Wait is over…..The KOLAVERI movie is here….. ’3' hits the Screen, made by the ’3' great artists who are the predecessors of ’3' masters of Tamil Industry – Dhanush (son of Director KasthuriRaja who is also the producer of this movie),Shruti Hassan(Daughter of Kamalhassan), Aishwarya (Daughter of Rajnikanth as well as wife of Dhanush). Infact I didn’t find any other relation with this name and the movie….

The movie…its all about Ram (Dhanush) and Janani(Shruti) moving through all the feelings from their teenage +2 days till the tragedy after their marriage…and that is the suspense of the movie. The intro scene itself will give you a shock ,which is the funeral of Dhanush….ooohh ..I am sorry…I am not supposed this to say this…

The entire story runs in the Flashback….which is the real beauty and life of the movie. I am sure that everybody will resemble themselves to the teenage Ram who is driving a Yamaha RX100 bike, waiting under the tree for a passing look from the girl, joining the Tuition class with the best friend only to be with her for some time, and avoiding the best friend to have a ride in his bike with Girl friend…etc..etc.. These are the things to be highlighted about the 1st half, which made the movie…i should say THE BEST…

The 2nd half completely turns the mood and take you to another genre, which is the masterpiece of National Award Winner Dhanush – A Psychological Thriller. I really doubt about this phase which can entertain all the type of Audience because of a big transition, which is providing a Hot and Cold treatment with romance and bipolar disorder.

Dhanush lived in the character Ram,which resembles him to his ‘Thulluvatho Ilamai’ looks and ‘Kathal Kondein’ attitude. Shruti Hassan proved her acting skills specially in her teenage girl phase. Aishwarya surprised with her direction ability in the debut movie which is really appreciable. The main personality to be mentioned in Anirudh, the music Director. The boy made the world to dance with his Kolaveri Steps, pushed this movie to the next level with amazing background Scores. The BGM is a spicy add on to all the best scenes in this movie. There is a special applause goes to the parental characters did by Prabhu,Bhanupriya and Rohini. Altogether this is something changed the conventional patterns of tamil movie.Really Fresh.

Snehitudu Telugu Movie Cinema Review

Release date: 26 Jan 2012
Director : Shankar
Producer : Dil Raju
Music Director : Harris Jayaraj
Starring: Vijay, Ileana, Jeeva, Srikanth, Sathyaraj, Sathyan, S.J. Surya, Anuya Bhagvath, Raghava
Ace director Shankar has come up with Nanbaan, the remake of the Hindi blockbuster ’3 Idiots’. Nanbaan has been dubbed into Telugu as ‘Snehitudu’ and the film has released across Andhra Pradesh today. Vijay,Jiva, Sri Ram and Ileana are the lead actors in this film. Music has been composed by Harris Jayaraj. The movie’s Telugu rights have been bought by Dil Raju. Let us see how the movie stacks up.
Story :
Panchabatla Sarangapani or Pani (Vijay), Venkat Ramakrishna ( Sri Ram) and Sanakkayala Ravi (Jiva) are room mates at Ideal Engineering College. All three of them become thick friends but their personalities and talents are very different. Pani is a very unorthodox student who gives more importance to knowledge than marks. He is extremely intelligent and is a practical joker. Venkat on the other hand is a very talented wildlife photographer. He pursues engineering against his will in order to please his parents. Ravi comes from a family struggling with poverty. He is an extremely timid person and his only goal is to get a good job to support his family.
Pani encourages his friends to chase their dreams instead of succumbing to pressures and exams. This brings him into direct conflict with the dean of the college, Virupaksha Sundaram or Virus (Sathyaraj). As Pani keeps crossing the path of Virus time and again, a series of humorous and sometimes tragic events unfold. Into this scenario comes in Ria (Ileana), daughter of Virus. A romantic track builds up over time between Pani and Ria. An exasperated Virus decides to expel the three friends. Will Virus succeed in his attempts? What happens to the ambitions of the three friends? That forms the rest of the story.
Plus Points :
Sri Ram has delivered a fine performance as Venkat. He looks good and lends credibility to the role. Jiva is pretty solid in the role of Ravi and he is good as the vulnerable and timid student. Ileana looks gorgeous and she performs a sizzling belly dance in the duet with Vijay.
Sathyaraj has delivered a good performance as the strict and hyper intelligent dean Virus. Sathyan is humorous in the role of Silencer. Comedy hero Sunil has dubbed for Sathyam and it came out well.
The script of the movie is extremely strong and the scenes make a strong impact on the audience even though they are known. There is a nice mix of sentiment, comedy, drama and romance. There are some extremely moving scenes in the film, like the one where Sri Ram goes and talks to his parents about his true dream in life. Students and parents will connect very emotionally with the movie. The movie never loses tempo and narration is fast paced.
Minus Points :
Surprisingly, the weak link of the package is Vijay. He may be a top star in Tamil Nadu but it will be hard for cinema lovers in Andhra Pradesh to accept him as the lead hero. He has also delivered a surprisingly dull performance. He just sleepwalks through the role and his performance can’t hold a candle to what Aamir Khan did in the Hindi version.
This movie is a perfect carbon copy of ’3 Idiots’, right down to the mobile phones, cars and costumes used. There is absolutely no native feel in the film. It is hard to imagine why a top director like Shankar was needed for a such a direct interpretation of the movie. For those who have seen ’3 Idiots’, this movie will be slightly boring.
Technical Aspects :
Cinematography is decent. Harris Jayaraj’s music is just about OK. Abburi Ravi’s dialogues are good and lend the scenes the necessary depth. Editing is ok.
Verdict :
Though the movie by itself is good, one expects more when Shankar is at the helm of the project. For those who have seen ’3 Idiots’, this movie will be boring. If you have not seen the Hindi version of the movie, you will find this film entertaining. Ileana looks gorgeous and some fine performances are offered by Jiva and Sri Ram. Should you watch the film? Well, the movie is definitely worth a watch for its engaging script. Just don’t expect too much from Shankar and don’t compare it with the original film.
